Increase your browsing speed while using Firefox

Speed up your firefox browser and load pages about 20% faster than previous.

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipeliningnetwork.http.proxy.pipeliningnetwork.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now.

Paulo Coelho - Alchemist

Finally got hold of 'The Alchemist' and read 'em bumper to bumper. To say something about this book is beyond me. A critic of the book mentioned something like, "Every few decades a book is published which changes the life of the reader forever. Alchemist is one such book". I can't agree more. It is a simple to read book with profound thoughts. Every person can relate to its core philosophy. You'll definitely end up recapping your life, the things you achieved, missed, your passion, love and such. And above all it might help to understand and define the small parts of us which we find hard to express, that makes the complete us. Give it a read. You won't regret.

Australia - Movie Review.

The all hyped and publicized 'Australia' finally hit theaters and I welcome 'em by christening a new genre, the PIT-B. Australia belongs to 'Pain-In-The-Butt' genre. This movie has got all the cliches ever conceived in the world of cinema. It ain't a Thriller, but dang a doofus would predict every turn of the reel. I must admit, the cinematography is at its best. The kid was good. Nicole Kidman was very good ;-). As the movie says, "After all, Pride ain't Power" as such, just beautiful background ain't good cinema. Go inside only if you have smoked a kryptonite.

btw yes, there is PIT-A.
